The Business Leaders Confidence Index (BLCI) measures what local business leaders in a variety of industries in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado and Texas are anticipating about the economic conditions and issues that affect their business.

In collaboration with Compass Bank’s university partners – The University of Alabama, The University of Arizona, the University of Colorado at Boulder and The University of Texas at Austin – the BLCI survey is conducted quarterly. Results are compiled from responses of business leaders across the state to create a forward-looking perspective on short- and long-term business trends.

The BLCI is composed of data encompassing the national and local economy, industry sales, industry profits, industry hiring and capital expenditures in each of the states it covers. In essence, the BLCI acts as a snapshot of what your colleagues and your competition are expecting in the upcoming quarter.
